Again, the winner from Kenya with the time of 2:20:59 still unmatched the record of two time Olympic Champion Waldemar Cierpinski in 1982 of 2:14.39 despite of heavy rains to cool off runners. The records still unbroken after 43 years.

Our Story
At Manila Marathon, our passion for sports started at a young age. We wanted to create an event that would allow us to share our love for sports with others. We started the Manila International Marathon event since 1982 with full support from Philippine Airlines which is synonymous to Manila International Marathon also known as Manila Marathon. The events lasted for almost 43 years.
